CLIMANIA

The Climate Action Board Game

CLIMANIA has been created by thirteen young people aged 14-18 from Balsall Health, Birmingham working with two Birmingham City University (BCU) staff and external collaborators over the space of two months in a co-design process. We developed this engagement tool in the form of a free to play board game to inform people of the role of the built environment in the climate emergency; hence our strapline: “CLIMANIA: The Climate Action Game” focusing on urban planning and retrofit.

The game was developed as part of the “Are you game for Climate Action” research project to engage young people with climate change in the built environment. It was funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, which is part of UKRI with Award Reference AH/W004526/1.
